INTRODUCTION Malaysia is progressing to become one the world's most developed nation. A majority of her population is educated at least at the secondary school level, thus resulting in dual-career family system. Such a system has changed the way children are being raised. Many of these dual career family systems employ maids to help them with household chores and at the same time help the family with the job of raising their children. Thus, as social and emotional support from the parents dwindle, many children face an increased amount of stress and pressure at an early age. Such stress and pressure may be reduced with the help of school counselors.
